The most powerful resurfacing treatment we offer — fractional CO2 laser reaches depths that gentler options can't, delivering in one session what others build across a series.
Not all skin concerns sit at the same depth. Surface tone responds to light-based treatment; texture responds to needling. But deep, indented acne scarring and etched-in wrinkles live in the lower dermis — and reaching that level takes significantly more energy.
Fractional CO2 laser vaporises microscopic columns of tissue down to that depth, triggering a wholesale rebuilding response. Because the columns are fractional — with healthy skin left in between — you get the depth of full resurfacing without the recovery of older, fully ablative techniques.
Our Treatment:
Resurfaces Deep Scarring: Reaches indented acne scars and surgical scars that gentler treatments can’t shift.
Softens Etched Wrinkles: Treats static lines around the eyes and mouth that don’t respond to relaxers.
Clears Sun Damage and Tightens: Removes damaged tissue and stimulates significant collagen contraction.
Have deep, indented acne scarring that other treatments haven’t improved
Notice etched-in wrinkles around the eyes or mouth that stay visible at rest
Have significant accumulated sun damage and want it addressed in one session
Can genuinely commit to seven to ten days of visible recovery
Are willing to protect the treated skin from sun strictly afterwards
(This is our most aggressive resurfacing option. Deeper skin tones carry real risk of pigmentation change, and we’ll recommend a safer alternative if that applies.)
The trade-off here is straightforward — more result, more recovery:
vs. Fractional Fraxel: CO2 works deeper and delivers more in a single session. Fraxel builds across three sessions with a fraction of the downtime.
vs. Microneedling: Needling stimulates collagen mechanically over a series. CO2 removes damaged tissue outright, which is why it reaches scarring needling can’t.
One Session vs. A Series: Most clients need only one CO2 treatment where gentler options require three to six.
We assess your skin type, tone, and scarring depth, and set energy and density accordingly. Some clients are primed with topicals for a few weeks beforehand, and we plan your recovery window together.
The Treatment
A 45–60 minute session after 60 minutes of numbing. You'll feel heat and prickling with a cooling system running throughout. This is more intense than our other laser treatments and we pace it accordingly.
The Recovery
Expect significant redness, swelling, and weeping for two to three days, then peeling and flaking through days four to seven. Skin is pink for two to four weeks. Makeup from around day seven.
Full-face CO2 resurfacing at Geneva Med Spa is $1,500 per session, including your consultation, aftercare products, and follow-up review. Most clients need a single treatment, with results continuing to improve for up to six months afterwards.

Everything you’re wondering about fractional CO2 laser, answered.
How much downtime is there really?
Seven to ten days of visible healing. Days one to three bring significant redness, swelling, and weeping; days four to seven bring peeling. Skin stays pink for two to four weeks and can be covered with makeup from around day seven. Plan properly — this is not a lunch-break treatment.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is applied for a full hour beforehand and a cooling system runs during treatment. Most clients describe intense heat that is manageable but not comfortable. Afterwards, expect a sunburn-like sensation for a day or two.
How many sessions do I need?
Usually one. That’s the trade-off for the downtime — where gentler treatments need three to six sessions, CO2 typically delivers in a single treatment, with results continuing to build for up to six months.
Will it get rid of my acne scars completely?
It produces the most significant improvement available non-surgically, but complete removal isn’t realistic for deep scarring. Most clients see substantial shallowing and smoothing. We’ll be honest about what’s achievable for your specific scarring at consultation.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Ablative resurfacing carries the highest pigmentation risk of any treatment we offer, and on deeper phototypes that risk is significant. We assess this carefully in person, and will recommend RF microneedling or another safer option where appropriate.
What is the aftercare?
Keep skin moist and follow the healing protocol exactly — do not pick at peeling skin. Absolute sun avoidance while healing, then daily sunscreen for at least three months. No exercise, heat, or active skincare for two weeks.
Join clients across Frisco who addressed years of scarring and sun damage in a single session — and planned the week to make it happen. Tell us a bit about what you’d like, and we’ll get back to you with availability and next steps.
