LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

Ready to Let Go of a Tattoo You've Outgrown?

Laser Tattoo Removal in Frisco, TX

Laser energy shatters the ink into particles small enough for your body to clear — for complete removal, or enough fading to make a cover-up possible.

Why Ink Stays Put Until It's Broken Down

Tattoo ink sits in the dermis in particles too large for your immune system to carry away — which is exactly why a tattoo is permanent. Creams and abrasion work on the epidermis above it and never reach the ink at all.

Laser removal works by fragmenting those particles. Rapid pulses of energy are absorbed by the ink, shattering it into fragments small enough for your body to process and clear over the following weeks. Each session breaks down another layer, which is why the tattoo fades progressively rather than disappearing at once.

Our Treatment:

  • Breaks Down Ink Progressively: Each session shatters more pigment for your body to clear naturally.
  • Full Removal or Fading: Complete clearance, or partial fading if you’re planning a cover-up.
  • Targets Ink, Not Skin: Energy is absorbed by the pigment, leaving surrounding tissue intact.

WHO IS THIS FOR

Is Tattoo Removal Right for You?

Laser tattoo removal is likely a great fit if you:

  • Have a tattoo you’ve outgrown, or one that didn’t heal as you hoped
  • Want it faded enough for a tattoo artist to work over with a cover-up
  • Need it gone for professional reasons
  • Have permanent makeup or microblading you’d like lightened or removed
  • Understand this takes a course of sessions spaced weeks apart, not one appointment

(Black and dark blue ink clear most readily. Green, light blue, and yellow are considerably more stubborn, and some pigments may not clear completely — we’ll assess your tattoo honestly at consultation.)

COMPARISON

Full Removal vs. Fading for a Cover-Up

Two different goals with very different timelines:

  • Full Removal: Aims for complete clearance and typically takes eight to twelve sessions, sometimes more depending on ink density and colour.
  • Fading for Cover-Up: Only needs the ink lightened enough for an artist to work over — usually three to five sessions, at a fraction of the time and cost.
  • Decide Early: Knowing which you’re aiming for shapes the whole plan, so we discuss it at your first consultation.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Tattoo Removal Journey

Progressive, Planned, and Patient

The Consultation & Screening

We assess the ink colours, density, age, and location of your tattoo, review your skin type, and set realistic expectations for how many sessions it will take. A medical screening is completed before your first treatment.

The Treatment

Sessions are short — often under 30 minutes, depending on size. Each pulse feels like a sharp snap, similar to hot oil flicking the skin. Cooling is used throughout, and numbing is available.

The Healing

Expect redness, swelling, and sometimes blistering for several days, followed by scabbing. Sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart to let your body clear the fragmented ink between treatments.

Tattoo Removal Pricing in Frisco

Sessions at Geneva Med Spa start at $200, based on the size of the tattoo. A one-time $49 medical screening fee applies before your first treatment. Because the number of sessions depends on ink colour, density, and age, we’ll estimate your full course at consultation.

FAQ

Everything you’re wondering about laser tattoo removal, answered.
How many sessions will it take?
Typically eight to twelve for full removal, though it varies considerably. Older, faded, black-ink tattoos on the upper body clear fastest; dense, colourful, or recently applied work on the extremities takes longer. Fading for a cover-up usually takes three to five.
More than getting the tattoo, most clients say — each pulse feels like a sharp snap or hot oil flick. Sessions are short, cooling is used throughout, and numbing cream is available if you’d prefer.
Often, but not always. Black and dark blue respond best; green, light blue, and yellow are notoriously resistant, and some cosmetic or white pigments can react unpredictably. We’ll be honest about what’s realistic for your specific tattoo before you commit.
Your body needs time to clear the fragmented ink through the lymphatic system. Treating too soon doesn’t speed removal — it just increases the risk to your skin. Six to eight weeks between sessions is what gets the best result.
Correct settings and good aftercare make scarring uncommon. The main risk factor is picking at scabs or blisters during healing, which is why aftercare instructions matter here more than with most treatments.
Keep the area clean, covered, and moisturised while healing. Do not pick blisters or scabs. Avoid sun exposure entirely on the treated area, and skip swimming, saunas, and heavy exercise for a few days after each session.
